Part of the appeal of streaming services is the ease with which subscribers can find new TV shows to watch, and streamers like Max have no shortage of original content to offer.
Max's hit comedy series "Hacks" is trending on the streamer following its Season 3 premiere on May 2. The show centers on the unlikely team-up between legendary Las Vegas comic Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), a down-on-her-luck 20-something writer whom Deborah hires to freshen up her act. "Hacks" has won six Emmys, including consecutive Oustanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy wins in 2021 and 2022 for Smart.
Elsewhere, another Max show is getting attention on the streamer: "The Righteous Gemstones." The comedy, which actor Danny McBride created, centers on a televangelist family who struggle to maintain their megachurch empire in the face of multiple family battles and potential scandals. Apart from McBride, the show's ensemble cast also includes John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Adam DeVine, and Walton Goggins.
